BDC provided the Structural Engineering services in relation to the residential development comprising 18 flats over 4 stories and 4 town houses, over a basement carpark supported don piled foundation. The site was an inner-city re-development of a former warehouse site with a road to one boundary and developments to the remaining boundaries.
The site had further complexity as running diagonally beneath the site was the EFFRA, which is a culverted surface water 1.8m sewer, with the crown of the sewer less than 1m below the basement slab. This required technical input on construction sequencing and in negotiations with Thames Water over protection of their asset.
The Rainsford Road project can be summarised as a new build retirement living accommodation, incorporating the project comprises 49 units, and communal facilitates, over 5 stories with an under-croft car park including significant transfer at 4 floor in the area of the sky lounge.
